Michael Best is pleased to announce that associate Laura Lamansky has been selected as the recipient of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s (LCLD) Rising Star Award.
The Rising Star Award recognizes a recent LCLD Alum who demonstrates engagement with the LCLD Alumni community and exemplifies LCLD’s mission of leadership, action, and results. Winners are selected by a committee of their peers based on their influence and impact within the Alumni community and their advancement of LCLD’s mission.
Since completing the LCLD Pathfinder Program in 2022, Laura served on the Alumni Leadership Team as Milwaukee City Lead, where she has been instrumental in reinvigorating the local LCLD community through networking events, community volunteering, and professional development programs. She has also served as an LCLD Mentor for 1L Scholars, continuing her mentorship beyond the program year. As a frequent participant in LCLD Coaching Circles and an active voice in the Alumni network, Laura exemplifies a strong commitment to the LCLD community.
Laura exhibits LCLD’s mission of leadership, action, and results not only through her Alumni engagement but also through her broader commitment to service and diversity and inclusion. She serves on the board of American Players Theatre (APT) and Co-Chairs its Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Committee, leading educational programs on inclusive language, accessibility, and systemic bias. At Michael Best, Laura is a leader in the Women’s Development Group, supports the firm’s DEI efforts, and regularly mentors summer associates and law students.
